Joliet
is a home rule city with a Council-Manager form of government.
All matters of local policy and legislation are determined
by the City Council with the Mayor presiding.
The City Council is made up of five District
Council Members, three at-large Council Members, and the Mayor,
who is also elected At-Large. An appointed City Manager oversees
the day to day operations of the City.
