William W. Wood home
Constructed circa 1896, the William W. Wood home is a 2-1/2 story Queen Anne home, reflecting a dominant style in residential architecture of the period. A wrap-around porch with square fluted Doric columns dominates the main level of the home. This structure features a clapboard façade articulated with decorative wood struts and a 2-1/2 story tower, which originally had a roof that rose to a pinnacle. A low eyebrow window is set in the middle front of the steeply pitched hip roof. The Wood Home has been nominated for its architectural significance; it is thought possibly to be a work of local architect Julian Barnes.
