Vernette Wraith House — 1010 Glenwood Avenue

 

The Vernette Wraith House is a one story, tan brick, Craftsman/Prairie style bungalow built by noted Joliet architect Herbert Cowell in 1924. The structure is distinguished by a side-loaded, open front porch supported on two large brick piers. Heavy exposed beams rest on the piers and support the roof in the Craftsman/Prairie style. The structure is a Local Landmark and part of the Bungalow Thematic district.
